Hatty more than likely hates Ruby not only because he thinks she's very stupid and annoying but also he is in love with his gems, he's very obsessed with the small shiny green things. Also, Hatty hates everyone so having prisoners trying to rebel is bad enough, and one is MADLY in love with him, that makes him more frustrated...and he has much paper work to do. Such stress. Much work...

Once Ruby loves you, no going back on it.
She loves EVERYONE, she loves you! She always gives out hugs to everyone she knows.
But out of all the people she COULD have a relationship to... Out of hundreds of friends she is very close with...

She chooses only Hatty... No one else, she would never cheat on him or betray him.

She still acts so sweetly to him even when he acts mean to her.
